DIY Logo Embroidery

DIY Embroidery Logo Kids Sweatshirt

This Project was super easy! Time consuming, yes, but very easy! It’s kind of like coloring in a coloring book, except with a needle and thread, and was quite therapeutic!

Cute UofA gear for kids might easier to find in Tucson but is hard to come by online and in Boise, Idaho. Official apparel can also be expensive, so I made my own!

I bought a set of two of these Cat and Jack Toddler Sweatshirt from Target (size 24 months)  and chose a red Embroidery Floss (Thread) to match the sleeves. I bought some Print-Stitch-Dissolve Embroidery Paper that you can print your design on. I downloaded a Wildcat logo online and sized it to about 5.5″ (I think 6″ would have been good too) and printed it out on the paper. I cut the wildcat design out leaving about a half inch to one inch margin around it. Peeled off the back and stuck it onto the fabric. Then I placed a 9″ or 10″ Embroidery Hoop around the design, clamped it down and pulled the fabric slightly taut. I then got started “coloring in” the spaces using a the embroidery floss and a Tapestry Needle

This was my first time trying embroidery, and like I said this was time consuming, but it was so easy to do! And I think it turned out amazing! Give it a try!
